The Society seeks to encourage interest in the history of the Walpole Nornalup district. For example, by arranging the commemoration of notable events, erecting memorials or signs at places of historical interest, preparing information for the community and attendance at community events.
In 2000 the Society arranged commemorative plaques at each of the 3 schools that operated alongside the Walpole Land Settlement Scheme and in 2015 arranged a number of events to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Scheme: 1930-2015 (pictures below).
An Open Weekend with collections on display was held over the weekend 17-18 December.
The Society has also participated in the Walpole Markets and the Nornalup Picnic day in June 2018.
The Society’s Annual General Meeting is held in April each year. It is open to the public and has an activity or guest speaker of notable historic interest.
